The origins of ComixCon dates back to year 1981, with a young comic collector named James Knight.  Knight was a true collector of anything comics related, building his collections from the ground up by buying through local comic book shops, comic book shows and conventions.  With the birth of the online marketplaces in the years that followed, Knight’s appetite for collecting grew stronger, as he found it to be an easier and more convenient way to collect.

As content was Knight with his ever growing collection, the same could not be said for his feeling of community, friendship and bond he shared and earned with the local shop owners, comic book shows and convention attendants, that he had accumulated through the years.

“There has to be a way to fulfill comic collecting where collector’s can unite and not lose the sense of community through the brick and mortar foundation of collecting by comic book shops, comic book shows and conventions.  At the same token, it is free to all true collectors and only charge a small cost to collectors and shops that would like to sell their items and collections.  Not the typical nickel and dime-ing, high costing online marketplace with no true sense of comic community.  But a genuine place for building long term friendship and bonds for all true collector and local comic shops nationwide,” exclaims Knight.

On April 22, 2010, ComixCon was born.  Headed by CEO James Knight and his team of extraordinary members, ComixCon will now connect you to deal with local comic shops and true collectors nationwide.
